Susan Darger hiking to Navajo Knobs in Capitol Reef National Park I had to keep hiking around the heads of canyons.  I followed the trail up and around each one, (the light colored rim-rock layer over my right shoulder is the way to go).  I didn't want to get too close to the edge, it's a long way down.

Susan Darger hiking to Navajo Knobs in Capitol Reef National Park There were endless uphill rock slabs.  You just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and press on.
Susan Darger hiking to Navajo Knobs in Capitol Reef National Park Finally!  On top.  Now I still have to hike down and it's a long way.  It's a ten mile hike with a lot of vertical.
