7:00 AM  (it's a little nippy)

This is the entrance.  To maintain the pristine wilderness feeling only 20 people per day are permitted into the area.  We got our permit three months early; the permits for a full month go on sale on-line and sell out in minutes.

This is a special gate set up to prevent vehicles or horses from entering.
There is no marked trail to the special location we want to go to... The Wave.  Alex has a GPS but he prefers to rely on his innate senses to navigate, he thinks he is on track.
I'm not so sure, this doesn't look like much of a trail to me.
We hike to the top of this butte to see if we can figure out which way to go.
Sam can't believe there is even a question.  He keeps his eye out for these cairns.  Alex thinks he sees the next one.
Sam tells Alex the trail is farther to the right, up a sandy hill and through a shallow pass.
