Heading down the north fork the canyon narrows up. Slot canyons will often have drop-offs that are too high to get down without ropes. Since we are a long way down the north fork it would be long hike if we had to go back out the way we came. | |
The sand in the bottom of the canyon means that it has been a while since the last hard rain. | |
There is one waterfall we
need to go around. Art is trying to talk Kim out of trying to
slide down facing out. He thinks it is a better idea to face the
rock and climb down We need to be careful since it would take at least 8 hours to get medical assistance; we know that this would be a bad place to get injured |

It's mid-afternoon and we are on the way back to the trailhead. It is still a couple of hours hike before we are done. |
